Binary code

Topic: Binary Code
Source: Introduction to Technology
by: Allan J. Pierce and Dennis Karwatka

Introduction:
The computer program and all the information that the computer will use must be changed into binary code, which is code that the computer can understand. Two numbers are used in binary code 1(one) and 0 (zero). (Unit 3: Information and Communication Technologies, page 252).

Computer sends and receives these 1s and 0s in the form of small electrical pulses. A 1 means a pulse flows through the circuit and 0 means no pulse. Each 1 and 0 is a bit. Bit is the smallest piece of information a computer can use and stringing these bits together form a byte. Each byte is a code for a letter, number, or punctuation mark represented as 1s and 0s. The computer converts everything that you type into these binary bytes. Computer have to use binary code because electricity on and off which are the only two messages that a computer can sense. Although using binary code seems slow to us, electricity travels very fast and supercomputers can make 20 billion calculations per second.

The Advantage of Reproductive Health Bill

The Reproductive Health (RH) bill  is controversial  as it being opposed by concerned citizens, specially the pro-life and pro-God groups, regardless of creed or religion. The advantage of RH bill in the Philippines is that hopes to provide midwives for skilled attendance to childbirth and emergency obstetric care, even in geographically isolated and depressed areas. Thus, the one of the cause of maternal mortality, that arising from unattended births, will be addressed.
Pro-life groups and many professionals in the medical and nursing fields, believes that physicians and policy makers understand and respect the beliefs of patients who consider human life to be present and valuable from the moment of fertilization. Patients should be made fully aware of this information so that they consent to or refuse the use of artificial contraceptives.
Other aspects of the Bill being contested by concerned citizens include the classification of family planning supplies as essential medicine when their safety/toxicity profile and legal permissibility are questionable. This article based on www.wikianswers.com.
Reproductive Health Bill have advantages and disadvantages, I find it more advantageous based on scientifically and practicality.

Roman Catholic Church Against Reproductive Health Bill

Roman Catholic Church is the largest Christian Church with more than one billion members nationwide. This religion hardly working and convinced the people to opposed the Reproductive Health Bill (RH Bill ) which is a proposed law in our country aiming the universal access to methods on contraception, abortion, fertility control and sexual education.
This religion knows if this law will be implemented then the people would change their views regarding for having sexual intercourse and would be liberated like the other countries which implemented the RH bill. Roman Catholic religion have strongly stand their beliefs and thoughts regarding this matter.
As a Roman Catholic, I do appreciate my religion views but as an eldest in my family, as a college student, explore to night life and been raised by my poor parents with five siblings, I sometimes think I maybe a better person and a better daughter if only I have enough financial support from my parents. I sometimes think we will be happier if my parents think practically like just having me as their child. Whenever I think my liberated friends got pregnant to unknown man or irresponsible man, I often asked them why they didn't use any contraceptives?
Eventually through discussing this matters to my semenarian friend, he once asked me happy memories with my brothers and sisters and I told him lot of things, then I realized I am too selfish to just think what if i am the only child of my parents? We are responsible whatever happens in our life and no one should be blame but our self.  We just have to be careful just think God's will so that everything will be okay. WHY PUSHING THIS BILL? We should avoid reaching a point where many of us will say,"It seems all right, we have to be practical!" because it appears that we can live without the need for God.

Reproductive Health Bill

From wikipedia.org, Reproductive Health Bill coined as RH Bill is a proposed law in our country aiming to guarantee universal access to methods on contraception, abortion, fertility control, sexual education and maternal care. This bill is highly decisive with experts, religious institutions and major political figures supporting and opposing it. Debates and rallies proposing and opposing the bill , with ten thousands of oppositions particularly those endorsed by the bishops of the Roman Catholic Church and various other conservative groups, have been happening nationwide.
This bill also provides for prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, from wikipedia.org, since the number of HIV cases among the young nearly tripled from 41 in 2007 to 110 in 2008. And the proponents emphasized that RH will help stemming the AIDS epidemic that is worsening in our country.
According to wikipedia.org, Jason Evert, an international expert on sexuality and family, cited the "wisdom of the Filipino approach to halting AIDS" and we Filipino are the living proof that self-control always triumph birth control. He cited the British Medical Journal which stated that "the greater the percentage of Catholics in any country, the lower level of  HIV ". The British Medical Journal said that whereas  in Swaziland, where 42.6 percent have HIV, only 5 percent are Catholic. In Uganda, with 43 percent of the population Catholic, the proportion of HIV infected adults is 4 percent. " Evert said that in the Philippines  over 80 percent of the population is Catholic and only .03 percent of the population has HIV ".
Why we Filipinos try to copy other countries' lifestyle in terms of reproductive health? I do admit their country developed better than ours, but aren't we proud despite our poverty there is a good side because of  our old-fashioned mindset regarding this matter? Most of  us here are Catholic and our religion convinced us to opposed this bill. Catholic doctrines maintains that the Church is reliable when assertively teaches a doctrine of faith and morals which our ancestors taught us. I want to preserve our ancestors' thoughts which I want to teach that to my kids in the future.
